This 15,000 sf facility public safety emergency communications center provides communications and computer-aided dispatch for 14 fire service agencies, 4 law enforcement agencies, the county-wide Emergency Medical Response Program and other associated user agencies. This public safety communications facility houses approximately 75 employees, including as 5 managers, 10 - 15 administrative or supervisory staff members, and 50 - 60 public safety dispatchers (flexibly deployed on day, evening and night shift assignments). The facility is in operation 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.
The building includes a central entrance, administrative offices, multi-purpose meeting and training rooms, locker facilities, fitness area, computer and equipment rooms, mechanical room, tower and/or roof top facilities, receiving area, technical repair facilities, kitchen, restrooms, storage rooms, and an open working space capable of housing as many as 18 - 20 communications work stations.
A County Emergency Operating Center with separate facilities to include a situation room, breakout rooms, message center, storage facilities, media room, broadcast center (including satellite and Emergency Broadcast System down links), Amateur Radio Emergency Service Center, and other special design features.
